Boat returns from New York
The boat arrived safely back into Portsmouth Harbour last night after a 10 day trip across the pond. The weather meant it was a downwind crossing pretty much the whole way, with 30 knots and a confused and choppy sea state making the crossing a wet and wild experience. It was a great opportunity for Alex and team to really test the boat and try our different sail plans and look at how the boat should be run for the 2 handed Barcelona World race at the end of the year. As for New York it was an amazing 2 week event in one of the best cities in the world, where we had an incredible welcome and some serious media attention. We had coverage in everything from the New York Times to ESPN com and also had a live broadcast onto FOX news directly from the boat where they had their weatherman commenting on the forecast from the top of our mast! it was quite a broadcast. We also fitted in a great heli shoot out there with the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge as our backdrop, have a look at the images in our gallery. So for now we a have the whole team back at base where we will be looking at the boat performance and getting our plans into place for the BWR. The next trip will be down to The Med in the middle of August where the boat will be based for 6 weeks visiting HUGO BOSS in Italy, Sardinia and Ibiza.
